Raewyn Hing is the owner of IQ Pilate and has been working in the human movement field since 1989. She initially began doing Pilates as a competitive aerobics athlete in 1994.
She began her formal Pilates instructor training in 2000 with Polestar International. This is an international Pilates certification in post injury rehabilitation with all equipment and mat repertoire. Her teaching experience includes group reformer teaching, Mat classes, semi-private, private and group equipment classes.
Her special interests are sports performance and post- injury rehabilitation. Raewyn has trained many of NZ’s elite Olympic and Commonwealth athletes with Pilates, Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis and is an approved High Performance NZ Provider. She has trained many people over the years with her gym training business.
Raewyn has trained with Polestar International with many international master instructors in Auckland, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and USA. She continues to travel extensively through the year for professional development. She is an instructor mentor for NZ Polestar International teacher training courses.
Raewyn teaches Gyrotonic ® and Gyrokinesis®. She is the first certified instructor in New Zealand in both exercise techniques.
She is a Certified Yamuna Body Rolling Practitioner, this technique teaches you to release muscles in the body on soft balls
She is also a Z Health Practitioner. Z Health looks at how the brain and nervous system drive movement and function in the body and improves performance by applied neurology.
She has a sports science degree from the Auckland University of Technology. Raewyn is a Netfit and AUT certified trainer and group exercise instructor. She is also an ISAK Level 3 Anthropometrist (International Qualification in the Science of Body Composition. She has measured the body compositions of many elite New Zealand athletes and was fortunate to take part in research at the Sydney Olympic Games 2000 with the Olympic Rowers and Kayakers.
Raewyn’s academic teaching background started in secondary schools teaching commercial subjects and mathematics. She also lectured and tutored at Auckland University Stage 1 Commercial Law. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Law and Arts and a Diploma of Teaching. She has been teaching group exercise classes in the fitness industry since 1989. Her sporting background is from basketball, tennis, gym-training, cycling and competitive aerobics. Raewyn loves doing Wu Shu (Kung Fu) free-hand, broad sword and stick and Spinning classes.
